Adelia Gibson, RYT

As I've journeyed through Life, happiness and peace have always been at my fingertips. I've been blessed with the love of my immediate family & I've known suffering and heartache. When I found Yoga, I knew I was knocking at the door of personal completeness. Not only did the practice of yoga become physical therapy for an injury I'd acquired while I was an exercise rider in the thoroughbred race horse industry, but it also became my own mental therapy after years of making poor decisions and bad choices. I learned to forgive and love myself. With that, I began to love others. As I continued my practice, I felt inside my heart the call to share this joy and experience.

I've traveled, most of my life, due to my parents work or my own job. I was living in California when I started my personal yoga practice in 2004. When I moved to San Antonio,Texas in 2006, I began working at Spectrum Health Club as a receptionist. I was continuing my practice through this gym and I began to wonder how to become a yoga instructor. I started to search. I discovered YogaFit which was founded by Beth Shaw in 1994. I attended teacher trainings all over the country to gain my 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification by 2008 and became a member of Yoga Alliance.

All people, every body, can practice yoga. It is not about touching the floor or putting a foot over a shoulder. Yoga can be soft and it can be hard. Yoga runs the gamut of Life and practicing helps us understand our Self and personal truth. We only have to breathe to start.
